Welcome to the first edition of Horizon for 2019
2018 was filled with significant moments for us, with the continued rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), our 70th anniversary, and the selection of Scope by the Victorian Government as one of the five providers for the transfer of supported independent living and short term accommodation (respite) services.
After celebrating what we have accomplished together in the last 70 years, we are more ready than ever to continue our story. We continue to work in the NDIS environment, deliver research that honours the voice of people with a disability and their families, and promise to keep delivering high quality services.
With the Victorian rollout of the NDIS nearing completion, we’ve seen people with a disability and their families in all areas start to get the benefits of the Scheme. In one of our newest services, Benalla Lifestyle Options, customers who have never been supported before due to lack of funding are now able to participate in activities supporting them to build their independence and life skills.
Working with people who are receiving support for the first time has given the Benalla team the opportunity to be innovative in how they provide support. As customers are being empowered to set goals and desired outcomes for their lives through the NDIS, we are there with the customised, individualised support that is each person’s right – true to our mission and to the values that drive us.
