Throughout her career, Liz has demonstrated a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the sector, focusing on making a significant impact on disability reform, particularly in recent years.

Her most recent role as Head of Strategy, Sectors and Research at the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) showcased her ability to work closely with the TAC Board in developing and executing the long-term strategy of the organisation. Furthermore, Liz fostered key national and international strategic partnerships that ultimately improved client outcomes and experiences.

Prior to her time at TAC, Liz held the position of Director of Health and Disability Advisory at Price Waterhouse Coopers, where she contributed her valuable insights and guidance. She then moved on to the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), where she played pivotal roles as the inaugural Victorian trial site manager and later as General Manager of Operations.

As a further testament to Liz’s skill, in 2020 she was seconded to the DHHS to lead the Government’s COVID-19 response in the highly vulnerable non-Government social housing sector.

In addition to her extensive experience in health and disability, Liz also brings to Scope significant experience in organisational service design and development and is highly motivated to finesse and implement systems to improve the lives and experiences of service users.

It is worth noting that Liz is not a stranger to Scope. In 2019, she was appointed to our Disability Royal Commission Independent Advisory Committee and our Risk and Audit Committee.

We are excited to welcome Liz Cairns to Scope and look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly make in achieving Scope’s mission. Her expertise and dedication will play a vital role in shaping the future of Scope and the lives of those we support.
