Enriching the lives of people with a disability with research
Scope research honours the voice of people with a disability and their families
Scope has been active in research for more than 30 years. We conduct and support projects that aim to improve the lives of people with a disability, their families and carers.
We do this by supporting and improving practice through the translation of evidence into practice, advocacy, and using research to inform and influence Government policy.
Each research project we are involved in aims to improve the ways in which people with disability are supported to lead empowered and enriched lives.
Scope research honours the voice of people with a disability and their families. Wherever possible, we engage with people with a disability to ensure our research is directed by them and inclusive of them.
Scope’s research priorities are identified in the 2019-2022 Research Plan. This plan outlines our emphasis on researching outcomes associated with service provision, inclusion of people with disability in the community, and health and well-being.
The research program is strongly connected to Scope’s practice as an organisation – this means it informs, and is informed by, service provision. Scope is involved in research in various ways including conducting its own research, collaborating with others and supporting the research of others.
