This October, host or participate in a Silent Morning Tea to raise communication awareness.
A little unsure how to get involved? Read our Frequently Asked Questions below.
Why should I host a Silent Morning Tea?
1 in 7 Australians have a communication difficulty. Many of these people need communication aids to get their messages across. A Silent Morning Tea is a great opportunity to raise awareness about Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC,) promoting inclusion for all people in the community.
Great, how do I sign up?
Register on our website.
I don’t know anything about AAC. Can I still host a Silent Morning Tea?
Of course! This is the whole point of the Silent Morning Tea. We will provide you with all the resources you will need.
Do I need to do this on a specific day?
October is Augmentative and Alternative Communication Awareness month, so it’s preferable to host your morning tea during this time. If you can’t find a day in October, however, there’s nothing stopping you from hosting it a little earlier or later!
Do I need to pay to participate?
This event is completely free to register. It’s not about raising funds but raising awareness – the only thing you’ll need to worry about is providing the morning tea itself!
