CEO Message

Welcome to the September edition of You Made It Happen – a chance for us to update you on Scope activity, and how your support continues to make a difference.

We continue to adapt as needed in this pandemic, and the way we have all worked together as a community – customers, staff, families – to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort has been incredible to see.

We are also working with the government on extending access to the vaccine for people with disability, and actively encourage and support all our staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Scope in New South Wales

As one of the largest and most trusted disability providers in Australia, we are excited to extend our service offer into NSW. We are passionate about people and turning hopes and dreams into reality. As we expand into NSW, we will bring this passion to supporting people with disability to achieve their goals and bring possibilities to life. An expansion into NSW is simply a natural step for our organisation as we continue to advocate at a national level for equality and independence for people with disability.

Strategic advocacy

Scope is strongly committed to elevating the voice of people we support, and we continue to advocate to government on issues that impact the sector and people with disability.

I was privileged earlier this year to meet with twelve members of the Federal government and opposition in Canberra, including the Minister and Shadow Minister for the NDIS. We discussed a range of issues focusing on proposed changes to the NDIS Act and the sector’s COVID response.

Thank you

Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time, it truly has made a difference in helping us to continue to enable each person we support to live as empowered and equal citizens.

Kind regards,

Dr Jennifer Fitzgerald AM
