Volunteers needed for Telescope inclusive writing group
A fantastic opportunity to contribute writing skills, time and encouragement whilst making new friends!
Leading national disability support provider Scope is running an inclusive writing group from May 2019, with sessions being held at Kathleen Syme Library & Community Centre, Carlton.
Delivered in partnership with Melbourne Library Service and building on several years of collaboration around mentorships and workshops, Telescope aims to support creative development and community inclusion of people with disabilities. Benefits of the project for participants will include:

Who we’re looking for
The workshops will be facilitated by Melbourne writer and creative writing teacher Rachel Hennessy, and with Rachel’s guidance, and the support of Scope and Melbourne Library Service staff, volunteers will help to support the workshop participants to develop their creative writing ability in the group sessions at the library. We are looking for volunteers willing to devote time to an initial set of six weekly 2-hour workshops across a six week period in May/June (a second group of workshops are in the pipeline for later this year).
All you need is some writing skills and the desire to support participants to develop their creative writing ability.
